The other day someone had left one of those free papers on the train (I think it was Metro? Maybe not) and my eye fell upon a squib that read: “Paul Mazursky has been named film critic at Vanity Fair. Previous jobs include writing and directing Down and Out in Beverly Hills.” Which is true! But also enough to amuse me all the way to Houston Street.
